Douglas Elliman approached IDR to design an intercom system that could handle a complex mix of access points:
• A garage entrance with its own intercom
• A secure door separating the residential and medical wings
• A lobby attendant and a garage attendant
• A medical intercom setup that needed to reach multiple individual medical offices
The key challenge was to deliver a reliable, modern system that could support video, voice, and door release — without breaking the budget or introducing hardware that would lock them into high software license fees.
IDR's Solutions:
• Deployed DoorBird's cloud-based intercom platform
• Used a custom SIP integration to allow indoor intercom stations to communicate directly
• Enabled real-time video, audio, and door release via DoorBird's free mobile app
• Connected the system so that any entry point (garage, medical wing, etc.) could ring the lobby attendant
• Allowed inter-staff communication between guards, front desk, and parking
